Her main research interests are environmental economics and applied econometrics. She joined ZEW's Research Unit “Environmental and Climate Economics” in 2014. Kathrine von Graevenitz defended her doctoral thesis entitled "Improved Methods for the Valuation of the Environment in an Urban Setting" in November 2013. Oslo Manual represents an extremely valuable additional tool for a wide range of innovation experts and policy practitioners worldwide. In 2013 she was a pre-doctoral fellow at the Center for Environmental Economics and Sustainability Policy, Arizona State University in the US. From 2009 to 2012, she worked at the Danish Economic Councils in Copenhagen, an independent think tank advising the Danish Parliament on economic issues. Subsequently, she completed her PhD at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. She studied economics and econometrics at the University of Aalborg in Denmark, the University of Essex in the United Kingdom, and the European University Institute in Italy. Kathrine von Graevenitz is Deputy Head of ZEW’s Research Unit “Environmental and Climate Economics” and Professor of Empirical Environmental Economics at the University of Mannheim as of October 2021.
